A Drummoyne renovation recognised across five HIA NSW awards as a finalist, pairing a refined kitchen with a thoughtfully resolved new bathroom.

Despite having plenty of rooms, the home felt disconnected and poorly lit
Flow throughout was inefficient and the layout no longer served the family well
The laundry could only be reached from outside the home, a daily frustration that disrupted the rhythm of family life
The space allocated for a new bathroom was narrow and constrained, making it difficult to achieve the openness, storage, and light the family needed

An interior design service was engaged to thoroughly review and reconfigure the floor plan, with options provided to suit the family. The kitchen was reconfigured to incorporate a walk-through pantry and a laundry now accessible from within the home, resolving the key functional issue and improving connectivity throughout. For the new bathroom, an existing skylight was upgraded to a solar-operated skylight to flood the narrow space with natural light. Large format tiles on both floor and walls opened the space visually. The shower was positioned at the end of the room to eliminate the need for a door, and a practical niche along the back wall with an integrated LED strip was added for mood lighting. Storage was addressed with two recessed shaving cabinets and a deep vanity.
